The issue of continuation of JCM membership of suspended teachers was raised in the meeting with the Commissioner and the Orders of Hon’ble High Court of Kerala on the matter was handed over to Commissioner by the President AIKVTA for further action by KVS on the matter. JC(Adm) also supported the contention of President AIKVTA that in spite of suspension, an employee may continue as JCM member.

Similarly the issue of grant of Compensatory Leave to Gr.B employees also came up during the discussion and it was explained to Commissioner how some DCs and Principals harass the employees by not granting any CCL for duty done during holidays and beyond school hours. The Commissioner directed the JC(Admn) to issue fresh circular on the issue to all concerned.

The News item published in some News papers regarding the possibility of extended duty hours for teachers also came up for discussion in the meeting. The Commissioner told that RTE act prescribes  45 hrs per week duty for teachers but KVS BOG is yet to take final call on the matter. The President AIKVTA wanted that other provisions of RTE act like student- teacher ratio, class strength and carry home work load for teachers should also be discussed as and when such discussions on RTE act is undertaken.

    Dear sir,
It is happy to note that all the points pertaining to teachers including suspension matter was discussed in the meeting with KVS Commissioner. It is good on one way but it is to state that KVS is hesitant to start the JCM after many requests. Reasons ?????
KVS Must start JCM meetings at Delhi ( HQ )and regional level
